Hey. I know what you mean. Honestly, I just mentally rehearse the fuck out of it. Consider every angle, every possible turn the conversation might take, and try to prepare for it. All that jazz. Obviously hardly anything ever goes like planned, but just feeling like you're prepared can help. Alternatively talking about it with someone else first can also be beneficial. Offers a different perspective and what not. Or the same perspective with a slight variation on it depending on who you decide to talk to.
[ the latter is probably just him though given that it's hal he turned to most of the time. which admittedly wasn't the most useful thing to do when it more often than not led to arguing in circles. ]
